Is Affiliate Marketing Ruining Honest Reviews?

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning income every time you promote someone else's products or services. If you generate a sale for the company, you get paid. If you don't generate a sale, you do not get paid.

Are honest reviews still a thing nowadays? I asked myself this question and took a look around popular reviewers. I noticed that most if not all of them run affiliate links to the products they are reviewing. This has nothing bad at all. At the end of the day, they deserve something too.

The problem resides in that many times these reviewers will stop giving their honest opinion and act more like a salesperson for the product.

This is caused because the only way they get paid is if the product is bought through their affiliate link. Because of this, the product review morphs from an honest review to a sales pitch.
